Holy shit I’ve been drunk since Sunday. Search Master Steve here giving you an update from SXSW, or as I like to call it MSxswN! See what I did there? That’s called branding, and it’s something you punks will never be able to pull off as well as we can. Microsoft has been branding other people’s products since before you were born, so it’s time you recognize.

What up, what up, what up??!?! SyzlakSEM sent me down to Austin to cover the goings on, here’s an update.

First day I got here was Sunday, and like I said, I’ve been in a stupor since. I skipped that Zuckerman Keynote, I knew that was going to be boring and from what I’ve heard…I was right. Monday, I checked out “Going Social Now,” my program describes it as thus: How your enterprise can use social media to improve your business practices. Learn social media ideas that are based on real-world research and case studies. I couldn’t describe it better myself…so I won’t. That was an aces presentation and it really got me thinking, ‘Microsoft needs to buy up one of these social media outlets.’ I smell promotion.

On Tuesday, I holed up in my room doing shots of Tequila while listening to various Ballmer speeches I carry for inspiration. I knew I wouldn’t be missing much from the trade show, and that I could make up some ground Wednesday.

Wednesday and Thursday was a big ball of confusion for me. Not only was I severely hungover, but also rather out of sorts seeing so many presentations set to music. For many of the sessions, I was mighty impressed with the musicianship, but I have to say-it was hard to understand the point of some of their presentations. For example, I’d heard a lot about this company called Earlimart, but I couldn’t understand if they were explaining how to leverage text variables within ad copy or just singing about girls! Don’t even get me started about those guys over at Revision Engine Marketers…

So, as I return to the bottle, I hope that your conferences went as well as mine. See you soon Syzlak!

By the way, when were you planning on sending me my ticket home?
